Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

We thoughtfully and carefully planned student arrival and dismissal procedures so that safety of your child is the #1 priority.  We know this is a stressful time for all, but we can confidently say that by following protocols set out by the TVDSB and our local health unit, we can safely welcome your children into Central P.S.

Drive-to Five

We ask you park in the municipal lots on Light Street and Graham Street and walk your child to school.  Parking in those locations will reduce the congestion around the school.  Please note that the City of Woodstock has a School Zone Policy. Bylaw enforcement of No Stopping/No Parking Zones occurs regularly. Please stop or park legally to help keep our Cougars safe. Visit  https://www.cityofwoodstock.ca/en/residential-services/school-zones.aspx# for more information.

Morning Arrival

Parents/Guardians will be required to say goodbye to their child at the gate and refrain from entering the yard due to contact tracing procedure. This procedure ensures the health and safety of all our students and staff. If you are concerned that your child will have difficulty with the drop off procedure, consider arriving close to our 8:45 entry bell for a quick transition and to avoid your child entering and exiting the yard multiple times.

Once on the yard, students will proceed to their designated zone.

After School Dismissal

Students will exit the school building by class using designated points of exit and escorted by their teacher to their designated zone. This will ensure safe distance while students exit the school at the end of the day. They will be dismissed from their zone.

Parents/Guardians will be required to wait outside of the yard on the other side of the fence due to contact tracing procedure. This procedure ensures the health and safety of all our students and staff. Once the teacher sees the child’s parent/guardian, they will send the student to meet them outside of the fence – this will ensure there is no crowding and that there is a safe distancing upon exiting.

Students in Grade 4 – 8 who walk home independently, will leave through their designated gate.

Kindergarten Students - will be dismissed from the Kindergarten Gate.
