Thames Valley students will tour aircraft displays, meet crew members and learn about the exciting world of aviation at Airshow London’s upcoming Education Day on Friday, September 9. Airshow London is a non-profit organization serving Southwestern Ontario that aims to enrich culture, aviation heritage and the defence industries.

“Airshow London is proud to continue to expand our community involvement and inspire the next generation with a love for aviation through experiential opportunities,” says Gerry Vanderhoek, Director of Air Operations, Airshow London. “Partnering with TVDSB to bring over 2,000 students to Airshow London will be a milestone of success for our organization,” adds Vanderhoek.

Education Day will offer an experiential learning opportunity for Grade 6 students that will help form real-world connections in the science and technology curriculum.

“Airshow London’s Education Day is a great chance for our students to learn about the practical application of STEM skills,” said Director of Education, Mark Fisher. “At Thames Valley, we’re always seeking new ways for our students to connect what they’ve learned to the world around them.”

Thames Valley District School Board offers an Aviation School program available to all Thames Valley students. Aviation School is a collaborative and experiential program designed to prepare students for aviation apprenticeships, college-level training or university-level programs. Learn more at tvdsb.ca.
