Cleardale Public School Celebrates New Playground with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Cleardale Public School is thrilled to announce the completion and installation of a brand new $98,000 playground, marking the end of a three-and-a-half-year journey of community collaboration, fundraising and dedication.

To celebrate this milestone, Cleardale Public School will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.The event will welcome special guests including a representative from London city council as well as a representative from York Developments, a key community partner.

The new playground officially opened for student use on June 16, 2025. This achievement was made possible through the combined efforts of the following groups:

  • Cleardale School Council
  • TVDSB’s School Program Improvement Fund
  • York Developments
  • London Community Grant (Fall 2024)

The playground includes elements that are accessible to all, including ramp for wheelchairs and strollers.

In addition to the playground, further enhancements are underway:

  • A new Gagaball pit will be installed this summer, funded by the School Council)
  • The TVDSB Capital Funding/Equity Program will replace the old baseball backstop, upgrade fencing, and improve the ball diamond area

This project reflects the power of community and the importance of creating inclusive, active spaces for students to learn and grow.
