In-person learning delayed to January 17th, 2022

Posted On Monday January 03, 2022

Today, the Government of Ontario announced that the return to in-person learning has been delayed to at least Monday, January 17th.

In the meantime, current in-person learners will move to virtual (remote) learning, as best as possible, starting Wednesday, January 5th.

Families can expect contact from their classroom teacher by end of day Wednesday, January 5th with remote learning to begin shortly after.

Students currently enrolled in full-remote learning will return to full-remote learning on Wednesday, January 5th, as previously communicated.

School buildings are permitted to open for child care operations and to provide in-person instruction for students with complex special education needs who cannot be accommodated remotely.

“We understand this last-minute change is disappointing for many families and we will work hard to support our students and families as best we can throughout this time,” says Mark Fisher, Director of Education. “At Thames Valley, we are committed to following the direction of the Ministry and our local health units, and hope that by doing so students will be able to return to in-person learning safely and as soon as possible.”

We will continue to provide regular updates as more information becomes available.
