Family Well-Being Community Workshop: Understanding Eating Disorders

Posted On Wednesday April 17, 2024

Parents and Caregivers are invited to attend a virtual workshop on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, to learn about eating disorders.

Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board are proud to partner with the Children’s Hospital – London Health Sciences Centre to present the webinar: “Understanding Eating Disorders: Spotting Warning Signs and Creating Supportive Environments.”

This webinar is offered as part of our Family Well-Being Community Workshop Series.

Eating disorders have the highest overall mortality rate of all mental illnesses, and dieting behaviours have been on the rise in young folks. Unfortunately, these behaviours put children and teens at higher risk for developing an eating disorder. Understanding the complexities of eating disorders and their associated warning signs can be challenging. Join us to learn more about what to look for, steps to take and how to create a supportive environment if a child or teen you know is showing signs and symptoms of an eating disorder.

Date and Time: Tuesday April 23rd, 2024 from 6:30-7:30pm (virtual)

Featuring: Children’s Hospital - London Health Sciences Centre
